Nesting

It's been so great to have had the last month off to get the nursery ready, the house organized, and just generally caught up on projects that we've been putting off forever. Lately, my nesting instincts have kicked into HIGH GEAR! Here is a sampling of some of the random and crazy projects I have tackled lately:

1) Cleaned out 2 closets and given away tons of clothes. What a great feeling!
2) Re-Organized my pantry.
3) Redone the shelf paper in my kitchen cabinets. No idea why I felt the need to do this... just something that "had" to be done.
4) Polished every piece of silver in my china cabinet.
5) Cleaned out at least 5 drawers throughout our house. I've lost count.
6) Touched up paint in just about every room of our house.
7) Washed every article of clothing, bedding, and accessories in Harper's room. I think I've folded and re-folded it all like a zillion times.
8) Deep cleaned every corner of our house multiple times... everything from baseboards to drapes.
Whew! I'm exhausted just thinking about all this work!

For his part, Joel has been involved in many of these projects (although has been wise to just mostly stay out of my way). He's been the quite trooper in not only tolerating my irrational instincts, but has patiently helped with whatever I've needed done. Since I'm technically not supposed to paint while pregnant, he's been our master painter. He did Harper's room and bathroom all by himself, and it looks AWESOME!

Our pretty pale blue guest room is now fully pink-tified for our baby girl, thanks to Joel's great painting skills!

Sooner Baby

Despite the bad outcome for our Sooners last night, I still thought I would post a picture of the in-utereo OU indoctrination that is happening for Baby Harper. She will have no choice but to grow up as an Sooner fan, and has even been to multiple OU watch parties before she was born. She was trooper last night at the National Championship game, even tolerating mommy and daddy's very bad moods when the game ended. She'll be born by March Madness, so let's hope having her here will bring better luck for the Sooners! (The cute shirt, by the way, is courtesy of my mother-in-law... thanks Suzanne!)

It's a....

GIRL!!!!

We were SO excited to find out today that our little peanut is a sweet baby girl! Most important of all, she is perfectly healthy and we got to see all her little organs working together just the way God designed them to. She was very cooperative in showing us that she is indeed a girl, and wanted to make sure there was no uncertainty about it. She was VERY active, dancing and posing for the "camera".... a little ham already!

I'll post some pictures of our little darlin' soon! In the meantime, we are praising God for the incredible blessing of a daughter!
